November 18th National Princess Day

November 18th National Princess Day

Movies have had a lasting affect on our society. They have made us laugh and cry, fighting mad and fearful, curious and astounded. So why then, shouldn’t they make some of us Princess’ as well! That is just what “The Swan Princess”, released on November 18th, 1994, did for all those would be Princess’. Seldon Young, the producer of “The Swan Princess” believes all little girls, and big girls, deserve to be a Princess at least once in their lives. And so National Princess Day was formed, on the day the movie was released. After all, we once had “Queen For A Day” so why not “Princess For A Day”?

How to celebrate – Treat your daughter, wife or sister as a Princess today. Form her royal court and bow to her every desire today. (It’s only for one day) Realize that when you make your daughter Princess that makes you King (Or Queen) so hey, you get a promotion as well!

May 16th Wear Purple For Peace Day

Over the years purple has been associated with royalty. Now it’s associated with peace. It seems odd to me to use a color associated with a group that is generally associated with so much violence. Now like the color purple, I don’t wear it much but for the sake of peace I guess I would. If I can feel royal at the same time, all the better. I am not sure wearing any color will actually bring about peace. Unless it’s a blinding color that keeps the armies from seeing each other. White is now surrender, red promotes violence, yellow means you are a coward and purple is royalty. Why not, maybe we should wear a rainbow, but that has its means as well. Oh well, you can wear whatever color you want most of the time but today, wear purple.

How to celebrate – Wear something purple today. Pretend you are royalty. At least eat something purple.

May 16th Wear Purple For Peace Day

Here’s a day that no one seems to know how it came about but what a good idea! Purple is the color or royalty and very few of them actually fight (Though they led us into a lot of wars) and other than the Portuguese army of old, I don’t believe too many armies wear purple. (It’s not very good camouflage.)

I mean, it would be nice if just wearing purple would end all wars. I don’t think that’s going to happen, but we can support the idea by all wearing purple today. It’s much better than red which kind of excites people. (Watch out red hat ladies!) Do you know why military sashes are generally red? It was because that way the officers could cover up the fact that they were bleeding and their soldiers wouldn’t know.

Purple is a good color. Normally pretty bright and easy on the eyes. People today think that purple hair is a good idea. I don’t, cause your not being yourself. If you have to have purple hair to show who you are, well… that could be a problem!

You can turn purple if you hold your breath, hit your thumb with a hammer or stub your toe. Although I am not sure any of those actions count for wear purple, or are a very good idea to start with. I wonder if you are allowed to wear purple around the Queen of England?

I make fun but the idea of world peace is certainly a wonderful thought. I don’t think we will ever see it though. But I will wear purple today to show my support for the process. Wouldn’t it be nice if by just wearing any color we could find peace and harmony.

How to celebrate – Wear something purple. Pretend you are  royal. (Not advised around Buckingham palace.) Listen to Prince’s “Purple Rain”.
