Well, from the drawing above you might think today is Kiss A Ginger Ale Day… but it’s not. Today was created by Derek Fergie in 2009 to combat Kick A Ginger Day (November 2008) where people in the UK were prompted to kick a red headed person. My guess is that redheads are not all that well received in the UK. Maybe it’s why Ireland has never gotten along well with England!
Numerous redheads, however, are loved in the UK as well as across the rest of the world. Even in England the likes of Prince Harry, King Henry VIII and Elizabeth the 1st were all redheads!
Redheads are noted for being quick-witted, energetic and generally fun to be around. I’m not sure that applies to King Henry the VIII, particularly concerning his wives.
And what man hasn’t fallen in love with a redhead? Or women for that matter either. There is just something about them that attracts us all to them. They seem vulnerable, innocent and are very, very sexy.
So kiss a ginger if you get a chance today. (Make sure you ask permission first) You won;t regret it and hopefully, neither will they.
How to celebrate – Kiss a redhead. Dye your hair so you can be a redhead even if it’s just for a day. Try and think of all the relatives you have that are redheads.
