July 10th Teddy Bear Picnic Day
Who’s your buddy? Naturally you probably will have
several but who’s been there with you since day one (Or two if your parents
were concerned) Naturally, it’s your Teddy Bear! We all know the story about Teddy
Roosevelt’s hunting trip, He refused to shoot a baby bear and one thing led to
another and the next thing we know, the Teddy Bear was created. So make some
peanut butter and honey sandwiches, bears prefer honey over jelly, maybe some
jelly beans or gummy bears (If you don’t think they will scare your teddy bear)
and take you bear to the park. Just remember Teddy bears don’t like cook outs,
they are filled with stuffing! Show them you still love them even after the 50
years you spent with them.
How to celebrate – Well, take your Teddy Bear on a
picnic. Dig your Teddy Bear out of the attic. If you lost your Teddy Bear go
buy another and start a new tradition.
So who is your very best friend? Your BFF? How many BFF’s have you had in your life? Friends are bound to come and go. We all would like to have them there forever but it just isn’t practical. Is your mate your best friend, they should be because hopefully you’ll be spending a great deal of time with them. But it’s not fair to not have a BFF aside from your loved one, after all who are you going to complain to about what’s wrong with your mate if not for you best friend!?! Today is the day to remember your best friend, honor them and remember just how much they really mean to you.
How to celebrate – Take your best friend to lunch. Call your best friend if they live to far away to visit. make a list of all the best friends you’ve had.
You can never have too many friends. Some move away, some get mad and go away, some die, few do you keep for a lifetime. If you do have that sort of friend, do whatever you have to do to keep them. The biggest thing to remember is that to get a friend you have to be a friend. Be willing to give as much, or more than you receive.
Some times it’s hard for you to know who really is a friend and who isn’t until you need their friendship. So remember that the next time they need you. “A friend in need is a friend indeed.” If you are lucky enough to have a life long friend, do what you have to do to keep them.
How to celebrate – Take your friend to lunch. find out if your friend needs anything before they have to ask. See if there are any new friends you can make today.
Everyone knows I love dogs. You can just look in their eyes and see the love there. They instantly become your best friend in the whole world and ask so little in return. A little food, water and love buys a lifetime friendship that will go with you anywhere you will allow it to go with you.
I think some of the mutts in the world are the most precious. They have nothing to prove, won’t win any ribbons and may get a bit goofy from time to time but they are always there. I wish they could live longer because the only bad thing about having a dog is losing them.
There is nothing wrong with a pure-breed. They are cool but a mutt just has that something extra. They aren’t perfect, they make mistakes and sometimes even do something bad but it is never intended. They really do only want to make you happy.
They laughs, they smile and they even cry… just like us humans. They play fetch, they cuddle and they are there for you when you need them. Please be there for them when they need you. Dogs are one of the best things in life, mutt or pure-breed. Love them and they are guaranteed to love you back.
How to celebrate – Consider adopting a homeless dog. Treat your dog like the friend they are. Make today all about your dog, I’ll bet you get more out of it than they do.
April23rd Lost Dog Awareness Day.
For most of us, a dog is like having another child… one that actually listens to us! My best friend is a dog. She listens to me, never judges me and normally wants to be with me. The few times she has gone missing terrify me. I wonder if I will ever see her again, if she’s been hurt… in short, everything you would be fearful with a missing child.
LDOA, Lost Dogs of America, founded the cause in 2011 and created the day in 2013.
How to celebrate – Please get your dog microchipped. Look for ways your dog can get out or away. Keep up with your shots for your dog.
I love dogs. No they aren’t perfect and they do a lot of things we don’t like but they mean well, in most cases. And personally, I like mutts the best. Generally they are smarter than pure breeds. I mean, just like people, the ruling class often turns out some disturbing people. Instead of being beautiful they have to rely on their cunning and intelligence to get attention and make friends.
Call them what you will, half-breed, mixed breed, they don’t really care. They are filled with love and want to share every moment they can with you. And generally speaking, they are happier. They have nothing to prove, they are not showing off, and they learn giving hugs and kisses gets them more than just standing there and being pretty.
Sadly, many puppies are born that never find homes. Maybe they aren’t the most gorgeous creatures on the face of the earth but they can still be your best friend, and so often, they will protect you with their own lives if required.
Just like with people, it’s their soul that wins you over. After all, beauty is only skin deep, whether you are a person, or a dog.
How to celebrate – Love you dog. When adopting a dog, don’t just look at how pretty it is, get to know the dog you are about to let into your family. Take your best friend for a walk remembering, you are walking them… this is their time.
Take Your Dog To Work Day June 23rd, 2017
Who wouldn’t want to take their best friend to work with them, not just today but everyday! Of course they might keep you from getting a lot of work done but isn’t that sort of what their job is!?!
To have a friendly face staring at you all day is so much better than looking at a computer screen, or writing up accounts, or whatever it is you do. Yes they will want to play, but a little play at work can lighten up the mood and actually help you to accomplish more!
Today was created by Pet Sitters International in 1999, always the Friday following Father’s Day. For more information you can contact the Association at email@example.com.
How to celebrate – Take your dog to work! Remember to pack them a lunch and you may want to take along some of their favorite toys. By a suit for your dog to make them look “Official”.
