Its summer, what’s more natural than jumping in the pool and swimming a few laps! Of course, your rewards may depend on whether you have a real pool or a kiddie pool and if your pool is the ocean, good luck with that lap. Swimming is good for you, it tones muscles and actually helps you lose weight while not sweating. If you are sweating you need to turn down the heater in your pool. It is great exercise, fun to do and is a great reason to throw a party. The more laps you can do the better but remember it’s not about the speed unless you are practicing for the Olympics.
How to celebrate – Get in the pool! If you don’t have a pool, build one. At last resort, use your bathtub.
Created and copyrighted by Thomas and Ruth Roy under the
ever-watchful eye of Wellcat.com National Bathtub Party Day brings back that
image of “Rub-a-dub-dub. Three men in a tub”. Not an image I care to think too
much about but, if bathing is your thing, today is your day! It’s all about
what you put in the tub that makes it a party.
How to celebrate – Take a bath tonight! Remember to invite
your favorite ducky. Make sure you fill your bath with oils and soaps to honor
the true spirit of this holiday.
So this holiday could go one way or the other. You can make
it very innocent by putting every bath time toy in your tub with you. Or you
can make it a little more adult by adding real friends to your tub. Now I have
to admit, taking a bath does have some health benefits to it, it is relaxing
and can melt away a day filled with stress. I just sort of look at a bath as
swimming in a lake. You take all the dirt with you that you are trying to get
rid of, sit in it, and then call yourself clean. Maybe take a shower first. The
day was created by Wellcat.com.
How to celebrate – Throw a party in your bathtub! Gather up
all your bath time toys and don’t forget your rubber ducky! By some bubble bath.
Today is a day to clean up your act. It’s bathtub party day. Sort of reminds me of that old joke, “Shower together and say water”. Well, I guess you can have a party by yourself. It is a little hard to decorate the tub if it has water in it. There’s always the rubber ducky but banners and party favors normally do not fair well.
Now I looked up pictures for today and nearly everyone was dressed, in the tub, without water. So, how often do you climb into the tub with your clothes on, use no water and fill it with balloons and streamers? I can only remember a half dozen times this year that I did that.
Of course, party hats are pretty much mandatory. And again, you must be aware this day has been created, and copyrighted, by the good people at Wellcat.com. So you will need to remember to pay them a fee if you do decide to have a bathtub party.
And frankly, I don’t understand the point of baths anyway. Unless you are having a party it is not the ideal way to get clean. You are dirty getting into the water, hence the point of taking a bath, and to get yourself clean… you sit in that water that you made dirty.
Now some bathtubs are larger than others. They sort of look like pools and there, I can understand having a party. The rubber ducky is optional at that point and the more, the merrier!
How to celebrate – Throw a bathtub party. Invite your best friends. Put some bubble bath in your pool. (No! Don’t do that!)
Most of us take showers daily, or at least hopefully daily. However, December 5th is set aside for the one day of the year when you should take a bath. Well, maybe not literally the one day, but at least the one day you should take a bath and make a party out of it.
Now I have already gone on record saying I do not quite understand the point of a bath. Yes, it relaxes muscles and is probably good for you, but I do not understand the point of taking a bath in water that you have made dirty! So, take a shower first so you can enjoy a clean bath! Unless of course you like wallowing around in the dirt you have gathered on your person all day!
And a party isn’t a party without candles, a bottle of wine and bubbles in the bath. (The cucumbers are optional)
Setting the mood is important as well. If you can you should place your bath out on a deck overlooking something beautiful in nature and make it romantic. (I don’t recommend this for kids at they will probably set something on fire and the beauty of the moment will be lost when the fire fighters show up with their axes.)
Or better yet, just go swimming in your pool, or a neighbors pool. Naturally, one is expected to take a shower before getting in the pool. It is, after-all, the ultimate bathtub particularly for a party!
How to celebrate – Plan a bathtub party of your own! (Invite only your closest friends) Plan a romantic bathtub party with someone you love. Plan a bathtub party for your kids… but forget the candles, and the romantic setting, and well, everything except the tub.
