April 5th Read A Road Map Day

Reading a road map is a lost art. Maybe a good lost art but none the less lost. Maps were essential at one point if you ever wanted to get where you were going, today we use GPS and it talks to us, so we don’t really have to read anything. In fact I just threw away an Atlas I had forever because I’m like, “I’ll never use that”. But at one point I did. (Yes I am that old) We had maps of every city, state and county we had ever been in. They took up a lot of room and seriously, trying to refold them was a nightmare! But I am mixed, I am sorry to see an era go but I am glad I don’t have read a map anymore.

How to celebrate – Be thankful for your GPS. Frame a map for the sake of history. Imagine you had to make a map.
